Shower cap and politics....

So, it turns out that Bri doens't have chicken pox. She has impetigo either caused by a bacteria or fungal infection like ring worm. I have to treat her for both for the next two weeks. Poor thing, she can't walk normal because it hurts when her legs rub together :( But, she's a trooper. We took the dogs for a walk last night and she went the whole way, waddling back and forth. She just discovered shower caps in the past couple of days. I asked her why she didn't like showering everyday (hence, probably how she developed impetigo in the first place) and she said she didn't like washing her hair. So, I said (lightbulb) let's use a shower cap and then you don't have to wash your hair everynight (because I don't do that either but I'm tall enough that the water doesn't reach my hair. Last Friday, I went to a wedding for a girl on my vball team. Here is a picture of me and one of my oldest friends (from middle school) Next matter of business, my f...

The infamous return...

Bri returned from her trip to California on Monday morning at 3am. She had to drive 24 hours to get home (well, her Dad and Grandfather did). So, at 3 am ( I was sleeping on the couch waiting for the doorbell), my spunky little 8 year old came in the door. Hi, Mom, I want to show you something. Okay, she pulled out some funny pictures of her and her Dad's dog briscuit. I put one of the frames on my dresser. She asked my why I would want to put up a picture of her father's dog. I said, the picture was cute of her and the dog reminds me of her dad. He's a bull dog. Then, she thought about it and said, "That's not very nice, Mom." And, I told her the theory of how dogs look like their owners... she seemed to buy it, but the picture cracks me up! Anyways, after showing me the picture, she pointed out these things that itched on her stomach... I said, Bri, I think you have chicken pox. Oh, she said... well I thought they were kind of weird. Anyways, yes, I...

Baby Shower

I love baby shower's because they are full of hope, and the unknown about a new little person coming into the world! My bestie, Sarah, had her baby shower on Friday. Here are some pictures. She looks so much like I did when I was pregnant with my daughter because we are the same height! I love how I can relate to Sarah and I am so excitied about the birth of her new daugther because she is such a wonderful, Mommy and I can't wait to meet the new baby! This is from the "guess what's in the diaper" game! Sarah's friend, Jennie, sniffing the diaper! Haha, I love it! Sarah and her beauty queen sash that says "Mommy to be!" Sarah's friend, Jennie, made this car seat cover and it is so cute!! I told her she should sell them. I would definately buy one if I had another baby! New piggy bank for Kate! Sarah's sister in law, Lindsay, had this beautiful quilt made for Sarah with pieces of fabric from her friends and family. It is so pretty!...

It's only Wednesday?

For some reason, this week has drug...on.... Probably because I worked Saturday and Sunday so I don't feel like I really got anytime off. Which, is usually normal for me. Anyways, Friday is my first day off in forever! I'm getting a new storm door put in on the front of my house. It's solid glass and has white trim with a brushed nickel handle. I think it will make the front of my house look nice. Then, I'm getting a new ceiling fan installed before summer comes. Last August, my fan motor went out and I waited until now to get a new one because we don't really use it during the winter. Anyways, I've enjoyed my spring break without Bri but I haven't really gotten much done. I miss her but I also like being able to go home and just relax and only have to worry about taking care of me...and the dogs...cat...and rats. Speaking of dogs, Minnie got attacked by a dog underneath a fence. I've never seen this dog but Minnie got out of her collar and...

Happy Birthday Bri!

In 7 years and 4 hours, I drove to the hosptial to have my planned C-section at 2:00pm. I arrived with my mother and brother to prep in the waiting room for the arrival of my new baby. Little did I know what was in store for me, but after 1 spinal block, nausea medication, alot of pressure in my abdomen, some amazingly supportive nurses, and one tride but true physician, my daughter came into this work at 2:37 pm. Weighing 7 lbs 13 oz, 19 inches long, a perfect apgar score, no jaundice, covered in gunk.... She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! She cried immediately. The rest of the day was kind of a blur because I was on dilaudid, after the Morphine gave me hives and I received a heafty does of benadryl IV. I didn't realize I needed to feed my baby until about 7pm one of my friends said, "Don't you need to feed her?" Anyways, the lactation consultant came in and showed me how to breastfeed my newborn. The next day, Brianna was taken to the nur...

I love this little guy....

This is a picture of our cat when we first got home. Rob brought him home. He didn't cost anything but to get him neutered and declawed cost a pretty penny. Anyways, he was worth every bit! He has eaten all my house plants, made my house smell like an outhouse, created 20% more work for me at home, caused my two dogs more grief than can be imagined, tried to eat my 2 rats on multiple occasions, increased my food budget by 5%.... But, he has also brought...entertainment, love, excitment, cuddles, and loud meows.       He meows when the door bell rings. He throws up if we are gone for more than 12 hours. He sleeps next to my head when I take a nap. He lets Bri play antagonize him, then goes back for more... He is such a good cat. Here is a picture of him now. He has definately fattened up a bit and he looks so much healthier!!! That's all for now @---)---)---

2nd Grade Open House!

Bri, Grammie and I attended her open house celebration last night. Bri showed off all her artwork, and I know I am biased, but I think she has the best hand writing of anyone in her class. :) Here is a picture of Bri with her 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Dold... I guess Bri thought she needed to "suck in" during this picture. I really like her teacher. She is very strict :) Here is a picture of Bri in front of her Seahorse dissertation she wrote. I didn't know this about seahorses, but they have partners for life (they are not polygamists!) That's pretty cool. They only live about 4 years though. This is Bri and her friend, Laura. She is a sweet little girl and they always compete against each other for the different awards at the end of the year. It's cute that they're buddies though! And, lastly, here is Bri in front of her Science Experiment. The kids hypothesized that tap water would evaportate faster than salt water because salt water was heavier, there...

Birthday Hotel Extravaganza...

Here are some pictures from our fun evening at the Hilton Hotel in Southlake Town Center. My friend Stephanie and Bri's friend, Kathryn...watching Bri open her gifts! Stephanie gave Bri some lipstick and we had fun putting it on each other! And, finally... the girls girl fell asleep after everbody left! Bri can never stay up very late. She just poops out. :) She had so much fun though and it was a great birthday celebration! That's all for now @---)---)---

Nail Salon Birthday Celebration

This was the neverending birthday celebration. Instead of throwing a party, I decided to spoil 2 girls, instead of like 15 kids. We had a lot of fun! First, we went to take pictures at Target because I get an 8 X 10 made for Bri every year that goes into a photo album. That took an hour and a half because the lady before us had a 3 month old that kept needing to breast feed. Then, she had to take a smoke break before picking out her 150.00 worth of photos. So, finally we went to the nail salon (were late for our appointment) and we all got pedicures. The girls loved it. Here are some pictures... I will post the hotel pictures tommorow. I'm already exhausted from thinking of how crazy that day was!  So many colors to choose from! The girls toes. Happy 8 year old :) That's all for now @---)---)---

Detergent

I have this problem with buying detergent everytime I go to Walmart. I'm not sure if I think they will go out of stock of detergent or what, but the other night I was looking at my detergent assortment and I thought, "what is my problem"? That's all for now @---)---)---

Creepers....

Last summer I planted these creeping Jasmine plants in around my tree because my ground is made up of mostly clay and it looks like a dessert in the summer. Anyways, I planted these 12 little twiggy shrubs that were suppose to act as a ground cover. So, I watered them, fertilized, weeded around them, etc, etc.... Nothing. Didn't grow. Kept waiting. And, waiting. Summer came and went, fall came and went, winter came and went and I thought I would just pull them up in the spring because they weren't performing up to their description and I was very dissapointed. But, I continued to wait.... and wait.... and, FINALLY!!! They started to creep and bloom. And, now, they look beautiful! My yard on the other hand, needs some work!! In conclusion, it was worth the wait! And, it reminds me of a song by Nicole Nordeman called Every Season. Every evening sky, an invitation To trace the patterned stars And early in July, a celebration For freedom that is ours And I notice You...

My favorite Rat....

I have two rats but I am definately partial to this one. I got him first. Last year on March 6th for Brianna's 7th birthday present. She wanted a hamster, but instead, I blessed her with a rat!!! We love Templeton. We loved him so much that we had to get him a friend so that he would live longer. So, we came home with Charlotte. Anyways, I love them both and I had fun taking pictures of them last night (yes, I am possibly the biggest loser I know, but I dont' have much else to photograph yet). Anyways, I probably only have two more years with these little guys but they sure have been fun! The average lifespan of a rat is 1 to 3 years. I started dehydrating fruit for them to give them a special treat. I'll try to take a picture of them eating because it is so cute how they use their hands!!! That's all for now @---)----)----

New Camera

I finally got my new camera!! I'm learning how to use but the pictures are really nice! Here are some pictures from Bri's birthday party at my Mom's house. Playing outside Our cat, Mr. Kennedy Uncle Mark and Bri My dad throwing a football in the house? Rob and I at Bri's party Bri's new American girl doll, Kit. Why does an 8 year old need 4 American Girl dolls? I'm still asking myself that question. Bri and her new shirt... So, all my fellow blog followers (Sarah), please let me know what you think of my new camera. I'm so excited about it and hope I can improve my photography skills. I bought a book on taking pictures with my camera, specifically, (I know, nerd...) but I hoping it will help acclamate me to my new camera. That's all for now @---)----)----
