January is almost gone :(

I can't believe January is almost over. I also didn't realize it was 2009 but we'll just overlook that one. So.... I've been reading the Twilight series and I love it! I just started on the 3rd book last night and I'm going to see the movie Friday! Yay!!! I also bought the book Multiple Blessing by Kate Gosslin (sp?)... so, we'll see how that goes. I'm signing up to do a triathalon on St. Patricks day. They are suppose to have bag pipes and shamrocks everywhere...the promotor said it would be "super fun"! I was like, will you be particpating in this triathalon because that won't be as " super " as listening to bag pipes? But, I am insane and like to torture my body, so I'm going to do it. My brother is going to particpate as well but he is much faster than I am. The last Tri we did together, he finished like 40 minutes before me and ran back to find me, then cheered me on as I huffed and puffed my way through. It was awesome thou...

Dentist

This morning, I went to the dentist! I hate that guy. I had to get four fillings taken out, drilled down to the nerve and then new fillings put in. He let me look at my teeth before he filled them and they looked like buckets. Yuck! I hate going their and I hate the noise of that drill. It felt like he was drilling through my skull. He was like, "Man, we should've broken this visit up into like four different visits. Anyways, I was like, I'm already here so we are finishing. 2.5 hours later I was done, completely numb and my dentist was like, "Ok, you can eat anything except Starbucks because you wouldn't be able to feel your mouth and you might burn yourself. So, I drove away and pulled into a Starbucks drive thru because he made it sound so good! I don't think I burned my mouth, atleast I can't feel it yet. So, that was exciting! Tommorow, I am driving down to Houston for a trade show. My Dad rented a cargo van and I'm riding in the back seat. It...

My brush with death and vitamin excess

Yesterday, I was driving down 35 yesterday, like 2 minutes from being home and I saw this dooley truck with a ladder tied to the back very unsecurely. So, me being the defensive driver that I am (after attending 3 different Denny's defensive driving classes) I slowed down because I had a feeling the ladder was going to fly off the back of the truck and smash into my windshield. About 20 seconds later the dooley cut across the highway and smashed into a little Honda. Then, out of no where, the hubcap from the dooley flew accross the highway right in front of my car windshield. Had I not had slowed down in preperation for the ladder flying off the back of the truck, the hub cap would've shot threw my passenger side window and cut my head off. Ok, maybe not that severe but I thought it was cool. Also, I've been taking these new vitamins that are sea weed and algae or something like that that's suppose to be awesome for your body. I set up an autodraft for these 4 quarts to...

Eminem and paper clips

I was watching this video of Eminem (don't ask me why) and I noticed that almost 90 percent of the time he was singing or rapping, he was grabbing his private area. So, my question is what is he worried about? I have seen people cover their mouth when they are disgusted, maybe to prevent projectile vomit from spewing all over their friends and, I have seen people cover their eyes when something is scary because they don't want to have that image engrained in their brain for years to come. and, I have seen people cover their ears when something is loud to prevent hearing damage. But, this blows my mind... Why would somebody need to cover their unmentionables when rapping... is he afraid someone is going to punch or shoot a bullet in his crotch? Or, is suggesting that he is so big he has to hold himself up. That's funny. Also, I can't figure out why it feels to good to scratch the inside of my ear with a paper clip. Does anyone else do that? It doesn't sound very sani...

Wonderful Weekend Wrap-up

I had a wonderful weekend. Friday night Bri and I watched a movie and I painted my nails. Saturday morning this man woke us up at 7:30am to give me a quote on a kwik kerb for my garden. I think I'm going to get it. It looks awesome and would make mowing much easier. Then, Bri had a cheerleading clinic from 9 to 12 so I went to Lowes and got quotes on a new storm door for the back door. For the fun of it, I also got a quote on a new door for the front that looks like it would be on a castle. It's about 2,000.00. So, I don't think I need a new door that badly but who knows. Then, Bri and I went to ride 4 wheelers in some po-dunk town West of Fort Worth. She had so much fun and she told my Mom about it. Then she told my Mom that we weren't wearing helmets. So, this morning before school she was like, "Mom, I have to tell you something. Grammie and Pops weren't happy that we didn't wear helmets on Saturday." So, I told her that we should worn helmets but s...

25 Tips for a better life-2009 (this is good!)

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant. 2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to. 3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.' 4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. 5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, and almonds. 6. Try to make at least three people smile each day. 7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. 8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card. 9 Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. 11. Don't take yourself so serious...

Holidays are over

YAHOO!!!! I don't have to spend money for a while! Anyways, I am sad because I had an entire week off and was able to work at the hosptial. It made me miss my old job. Oh well, I guess it's always good to miss something because it makes you appreciate it more. Anyways, I seriously enjoyed the time off. I was able to work on stuff at my house, clean closests, floors, etc. Also, I'm happy to report that I ordered my dryer booster on Dec. 30th. That means 2008 was an enviornmentally efficient year for me. I had my radiant barrier put in the attic, solar screens on the front and back of the house and now my drying time will be cut in half once I install (or have installed) my new dryer booster. I'm very excited. Trying to prepare for the summer! Anyways, new years was good... I just worked. But, also, I'm $900.00 away from my emergency fund being fully funded which means I completed my goal in 8 months, which was estimated to take 2.5 years. Yay!!!!! So, what's next...
