J's Birth Story

October 15th, 2015: I worked a 12 hour shift the day before she was born. When I got off work, the traffic was so backed up on the highway to go home that I decided to follow my coworker and go the back way home. 2 hours later, I made it home. I was scheduled for a C section the next morning. I would be 40 weeks pregnant that day and my cervix has still not dilated and was sitting extremely posterior. So posterior that my OB was unable to check my dilation. So, C section, here we go... October 16, 2015: The next morning, my husband and 13 year old woke up and started the trek to the hospital an hour and a half away. At this point, I still didn't believe that a tiny human was residing inside my uterus. I knew there had been something in there that was moving and kicking and hiccuping but I couldn't picture what she looked like. We unpacked in the recovery room and the nurse started my IV while she completed my admission. I received 2 liters of LR prior to my C sec...
