Bri returned from her trip to California on Monday morning at 3am. She had to drive 24 hours to get home (well, her Dad and Grandfather did). So, at 3 am ( I was sleeping on the couch waiting for the doorbell), my spunky little 8 year old came in the door. Hi, Mom, I want to show you something.
Okay, she pulled out some funny pictures of her and her Dad's dog briscuit.
I put one of the frames on my dresser. She asked my why I would want to put up a picture of her father's dog. I said, the picture was cute of her and the dog reminds me of her dad. He's a bull dog.
Then, she thought about it and said, "That's not very nice, Mom." And, I told her the theory of how dogs look like their owners...
she seemed to buy it, but the picture cracks me up!
Anyways, after showing me the picture, she pointed out these things that itched on her stomach... I said, Bri, I think you have chicken pox.
Oh, she said... well I thought they were kind of weird.
Anyways, yes, I sent her to school the next morning because she was able to conceal the pox and she has had the chicken pox vaccine.
I probably shouldn't have sent her but she had no fever and didn't feel sick.
So, the next day I sent her dad a message that Bri had chicken pox.
He said, "Oh yeah, I meant to tell you about those."
Anyways, she also had a cut on her foot from her Dad's dog briscuit, and she could barely walk on it.
I said, Bri, how come all this stuff happens when you go away and you never get hurt when I'm around to take care of it.
She said, "I don't know".
Atleast she made it home and she seemed to have a great time!
Last night we went shopping at Justice for girls. Bri had a gift card from her birthday party, so we bought a new dress and some matching sandals. Then, there was a purse she just had to have! She said, "Mom, I kept thinking about that purse when I was in the dressing room." I said, then that definately means you need to buy it!
So, she used her gift card and money she had earned from chores to purchase her new items.
She wore her dress to school today but I made her wear a sweater so the pox on her arms wouldn't infect anyone :)
That's all for now
