Our Experience with Covid 19

I'm writing to share our experience with Covid-19. With the reopening of the lockdown, many new cases are flooding the world. My husband is the Regional Sales Manager at Century 21 Judge Fite in Rockwall. He has been in real estate for the past seven years. He is an amazing realtor and even better manager. I am very proud of him and I stand behind him no matter what. Saturday July 5th is started feeling ill after a work out. He had recently joined Legends Fit in Rockwall and started a program where he had to lose 25lbs or 6.9% body fat in 6 weeks and he would get a free membership for the year. After 3 weeks and a very strict diet and workout, he had lost close to 20 lbs and 5.3% body fat. He started running a fever Saturday afternoon and felt very fatigued. No real respiratory symptoms and his pulse ox never dropped below 98 percent. His heart rate was double his resting heart rate. He tested on Monday morning and received word Tuesday around 5:30pm that he was pos...

Ashton's Birth Story-VBAC

I started this last pregnancy journey with the goal of finishing my second VBAC. Here's the story (So that I never forget any of my children's birth, I have documented each one's stories)... Around 4pm on Thursday August 1, 2019, I went into the hospital. I was having irregular contractions, dilated to 2 cm and 50% effaced. I was 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant.  Here is a photo: I am almost 6 feet tall and had gained nearly 50 lbs. Most of which I gained in the first and second trimester. I continued to workout this whole pregnancy in hopes that my body would bounce back quicker. Time will tell. So, my doctor came in around 5:30pm and said he was going to do the foley cervical dilation balloon again since that worked with Elizabeth. So, they inserted the foley balloon which is extremely painful because I have a tilted cervix which apparently hides behind my spine. He tried to do it with a tool and ended up having to do it manually with his hands.  Then, I ...

You think it can't happen???

I turned 35 this past December. I had a tiny spot on my nose that had been there the past seven years. Six months ago, Jamyson scratched the spot and it bled and never fully healed. I noticed it was slightly patchy underneath, almost like a dry skin spot. I remember hearing that if you had a "spot" that bled, you should have it looked at by a dermatologist. Okay, I thought... I have three children and don't have time to deal with this. My kids and husband are more important than a "blemish" on my face. I told my husband about it and he thought I needed to go see a dermatologist. I went through the hassle of getting a referral from my PCP who lives two hours from my house. Then, I finally found a dermatologist in Rockwall that accepted my insurance. Appointment made... "this will turn out to be nothing" ( I thought). I went to visit the dermatologist and explained the spot had been there about seven years. "Why didn't you come in earli...

E's birth story- VBAC

I posted a birth story for Jamyson to recap our experience in the hospital. I've always wanted to post a "VBAC" experience and never thought I would have the chance to do it. Elizabeth's Birth Story Thursday 7/20/17 Jamyson and I walked 2 miles with my friend, Misty in the morning. I was 41 weeks 3 days pregnant at this point. No contractions, 1/2 dilated, 50% effaced. Wasn't looking promising. My husband had been telling me the entire pregnancy, "Wouldn't it just be easier to schedule a C section?!?". Yes, it would've been but I was holding out the chance to try a vaginal delivery. My doctor had scheduled a "balloon catheter induction" for that evening. So, my Mom came over at 3pm and we put Jamyson down for a nap. Rob was working and arrived home at 3:30pm, did some computer work and then we left for the hospital at 3p. We arrived at 4pm and checked into our room at 5pm. The doctor came into the room at 5:30pm to plac...

28 Weeks Pregnancy Update

28 weeks today. Official third trimester in ALL BOOKS!! Weight Gain:  33.3 lbs still. Didn't gain any weight this week! Not sure why. I stopped buying ice-cream from sonic and dairy queen everyday, more to save money than anything but maybe that's helped! Exercise:  Walked 21.4 miles last week. Pretty decent but I tried to not do more than 4 at a time because I get so tired. Cravings/Diet:  Still eating egg and tuna salad but not as much. I really don't have any food cravings but I get so thirsty at night! All I want is a gallon of lemonade from Chick Fil A but then I would be running to the bathroom all night. I try not to drink too much after dinner time. Morning Sickness: I haven't had morning sickness but I night my heart burn gets so bad that I feel I could throw up. Sometimes during the day I have waves of feeling blah and tired but not necessarily nauseous. Sleep:  Been napping better and sleeping pretty good at night. Once I get comfortable I'm pre...

27 Weeks Pregnancy Update

27 weeks today. Is this the third trimester or not?!? Some websites say it is, some says 28 is. So, I'm not too sure. Weight Gain:  33.3 lbs total. Only half a pound of away from what I gained with Jamyson and I still have 13 weeks left (waaaahhhh.....) I feel huge. I am huge! It's harder to walk and my feet hurt now, lol. Exercise:  I'm still walking but I cut back last week and only did 14.7 miles. I broke the 200 miles for the year for the "run the year 2017"! However, the more I walk, the more I eat and the more weight I gain (eek)! Cravings/Diet:  I've been craving lemon lime gatorade. Weird right?! It's delicious. I've also been getting reece's blasts from Sonic. They are so good! I threw in a cooke dough blizzard from dairy queen. That was delicious and not helping with my weight gain. Morning Sickness: Still no morning sickness but I'm still taking 2 diclegis every night. Sleep:  Didn't nap as much last week. Just didn...

26 weeks pregnancy update

I've made it to 26 weeks! I don't go to the doctor again until next week. I think I'm supposed to do the diabetes test next week but they never gave me the orange drink so I'm not going to worry about it. I haven't had diabetes before so I doubt I have it this time. I think my last pregnancy I didn't even drink the juice when I had the test done because the stuff tastes like sugared up orange soda. So, nasty!! Weight Gain:  30.6 lbs! It just keeps coming! It seems the more I walk, the more weight I gain. I think I should back off on the walking. Maybe try to limit to 3 miles a day. I think it makes me hungrier and then I eat too much when I'm walking a lot. Exercise: Last week I walked 31.9 miles! I did a 9.4 mile walk on Saturday at White Rock Lake. It took 3.5 hours! Thankfully, I had my friend Misty with me to help pass the time. The sunshine is nice also and Jamyson loves all the people on the trail.  When I'm walking, if I feel that I can't ...
